What has been your favorite mistake?
Submitted by Runnergirlnot getting married 9 years ago. some remorse, no regrets. i got into a lot of shit after that fell through. but i grew up some too.
it would've been nice if it happened, yin. but i hope you've found what you were looking for.
Out of all the music festivals this year, which were the coolest? Did you travel to attend any of them?
Rock The Bells sounded like a great show too. Not only were RATM there, the Wu came back in full force, Nas was riding high, PUBLIC ENEMY, Sage and Atmosphere and Living Legends and Lif. Man. But. BUT
The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival was free! And it happened right in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge. I dunno, that's just romantic as hell for me. I caught some of the live videos on Youtube, and yo. Chubb Rock killed it.
I didn't get to go to any of these festivals, of course. But I am happy to note that I was sent to cover Good Vibrations Singapore. It's an Australian festival that for the first time went out to Asia, and I got to see Jurassic 5 and the Beastie Boys live, in the company of some very good friends. I'm wearing the t-shirt as I write this, so yeah, good timing, Vox. Now stop spying on my ass.
What small act of kindness have you done in the last thirty days?
Submitted by One Kind Act.
I thought of something. I don't know if it was kind. But I know it was necessary, and almost impossible to do.
I don't know. It wasn't small, and it probably wasn't kind. I'm a horrible person.
What do you have, what do you need and what do you want?

I have enough.
I need completion.
I want neither of the above. I'm stupid that way.
Who was the first person to give you info -- correct or not -- on how to "make babies"?

What does your name mean and why did your parents choose it for you?
Submitted by mommy2two.
Mahmad is a variation on the common Arabic name Muhammad; I would also like to think it combines that with Ahmad. I think my parents chose that instead of the usual spelling because they wanted all eight (yes, eight) of their children to have their names begin with mah-, like my dad. It's not a complete bastardization; one of my lecturers in UIA remarked that it's frequently used in Turkey. Muhammad means "he who is praised"; Ahmad means "he who praises".
Azwan is a slight misspelling of Aswan (look up the Aswan Dam, in Egypt), which means "gifts" or "blessed attributes". Draw up the chalk lines, bada bing bada boom, and you get Mahmad Azwan, "he is who is praised for, and praises, gifts."
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?

What's your favorite music for a Sunday morning?
Submitted by Nick.
Sublime's "Santeria" would be nice on a Sunday morning, assuming i would ever get to wake up early enough to experience one of those; i hear they're pretty nice. Actually, anything slow and not too taxing on the eardrums. "Cab Fare" by Hieroglyphics comes to mind too. Or "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, for those times when I feel cornily buoyant. Damn, now the floodgates are breaking down: Shanice's "I Love Your Smile". Shai's "Baby I'm Yours". The Beatles' "Here, There and Everywhere". Zainal Abidin's "Manis".
That's a lot of favourite songs for a time of day I'm not even usually awake for.
